Deadwood, Sturgis, SD

5/2/2015

Becky and Greg left Keystone, SD Travel Lodge RV park around 11:20 this a.m.  Drove our Kodiak on 385 North on 16A to 385 to Deadwood, SD.

The roads in Deadwood were being replaced making it very difficult to get around in our RV. We wished to visit the famous grave sites in town, but was not able to maneuver the very steep roads because of their condition.

The scenery was beautiful through the Black Hills of South Dakota

Next stop Sturgis, SD.  We stopped at the Full Throttle Saloon for a cold one and a chat with one of the waitresses their.  July of this year, they will be celebrating their 75th year, expecting 1.3 million bikers this year.

After our Sturgis visit, we headed back West on 14A to 385 to travel the Spearfish, SD scenic drive.  Beautiful running water racing along side the road as we travel.

After reaching Spearfish, SD we continued on West to Devils Tower.  The camp ground opened May 1.  We love the National Parks, and camp grounds.  With our Senior Pass, we get in the National Parks for free, and camp for 1/2 price.  Camping here is $6.00
