The Tetons and The Idho Thompsons, Pocatello ID
5/9/2015
Another cold night. Low was 34 and today is mid 40's. Today we are leaving Yellowstone National Park and heading South then West on Our Kodiak Adventures. We drove to Grand Canyon of Yellowstone making our way to the South entrance to the Tetons National Park. The Falls were beautiful at the Canyon.
It took us about 2 hours to get to the South entrance of Yellowstone. The South entrance just opened yesterday. The South entrance is slow to open because of the snow they continue having on the southern part of the park to the middle of May.Tetons National Park joins Yellowstone. Tetons is primarily still closed for the most part. No camping, Visitor Center is still closed. Most things start opening first of June. We enjoyed the drive. Beautiful snow covered mountains.
We entered Jackson Hole, the town of the rich and famous. We didn't stay long... Lots of ski resorts and a real cute town. We bought gas here and paid the highest price so far on our trip. 2.75 a gal. I hated buying it, but I was afraid going any further in the mountains on a 1/4 tank.
We continued over the mountain with a 10% slope going up and down. 25 mph curves. Not bad, but makes me wonder what I would do if my breaks went out? God was with us and we made it with no problems.
Next stop Pocatello ID.
My Great Nephew Aaron and his family live there. Becky and I wanted to stop by and visit.
Off to the nearest Walmart. We went inside and asked permission to park for the night. The lady we talked to at customer service was very pleasant and directed us to where we could park. Tomorrow, Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers.

Was great seeing them. First time I meet Kimberly and their youngest
little girl, Peyton. Beautiful home in the hills. We caught up a
little, got to see some of Logan's Black Belt moves. I'm so proud of
him and his accomplishments. Peyton is as cute as she can be, was
enjoying herself with Becky playing with play dough. Good seeing
everybody. We don't have the chance to see each other much anymore with
the distance separating us. Thanks to the Internet, we keep in touch.
