Custer State Park Campground, SD

Left Rapid City SD Flying J to Custer State Park SD.  Windy cool day.  We made a stop at a RV shop to have a leak repaired in our Generator gas line.  Meet a couple local ladies that own and travel in a C Class Motor Home.  Nice talking with them and sharing experiences. We stopped continued on to Keystone SD.  About a 40 min. drive to Keystone SD.  Keystone is about 3 miles from the monument.

Rained while we were their, so we continued South to Custer State Park, SD to camp for the night.  Cost $15.00 for 7 day State Park pass, and $26.00 for one nights camping with electricity.  Nice Camp ground.   Tomorrow we will explore the park scenic loop before moving on to Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore National Monument.

Blue Spring State Park covers more than 2,600 acres, including the largest spring on the St. Johns River. Blue Spring is a designated manatee refuge and the winter home to a growing population of West Indian Manatees. During manatee season, which approximately runs from mid-November through March, several hundred manatees can be viewed atop the spring’s overlooks on cold days. The spring and spring run are closed to all water activity from mid-November to at least mid-March.  Swimming or diving with manatees is not permitted; this rule is strictly enforced. A short drive from Orlando, this 4,500-acre park is noted for its beautiful lakes, rolling hills, and scenic landscapes. Lake Louisa, the largest in a chain of 13 lakes, is designated as an Outstanding Florida Water Way. Lake Louisa, Hammond Lake and Dixie Lake, the park’s most accessible lakes, provide opportunities for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.
