Cody WY to Yellowstone National Park

5/6/2015 We left Cody WY around 9:30 a.m. to visit the Cody Museum which housed 5 different museums in one building. After the museum we visited Old Trail Town.  1895 Buffalo Bill Cody laid out the original town of Cody, Wyoming which is named in his honor.   Paid $2.47 a gal for gas here.  Our Kodiak Adventures is heading toward Yellowstone National Park.  We took the route through Buffalo WY and the mountains.  Starting to see snow on the mountain tops.  Scenery is beautiful, overcast most of our drive. We will arrived at the Madison campground about 2 hours after arriving at Yellowstone Eastern Entrance.  It's around 3:30 p.m.  Cool and rainy here. The temperature is in the 40s. Yellowstone National Park, East Entrance. Madison Campground We are exploring the North end tomorrow.  Lots of road work going...

Cody WY

We left Sheridan around 10:30 this a.m. Stopped at Auto Zone to get a "Check Engine" light decoded.  Seems it was a air sensor telling me the Kodiak engine was to lean. Trying to get all the gas millage I can, I asked the clerk for a good place to find a mechanic in town.  He suggested CW Auto about 1 mile down the road.  After touring the History in the city of Sheridan, we visited the mechanic to see what he thought.  He said the sensor was getting oil on it from the KN air filter I use.  He cleaned the sensor and said that would take care of the problem. Good news. Very nice guy.  The kind of mechanic we all hope for.   We continued on to Buffalo WY about 50 miles down I-90.  After arriving in Buffalo, we changed roads to I-16 and headed to Cody, Wyoming .  Cody was an additional 85 miles.
