The Great Smoky Mountains National Park - TN

 8/5/2015 - Wednesday
Drove through Nashville TN towards The Great Smoky Mountains.  Destination Elkmont campground.  The scenery is beautiful driving to the campground but a little nail biting.  One instance we came upon a wooden bridge that was posted no RV's, 10 ton limit.  Now they tell us.  No signs before and nowhere to go.  Turning around would be difficult too.  I got out and examined the bridge and we went for it.  Everything went well.  The campground is very nice.  No electricity or water that really is not an issue with us.  Nice we were at a higher elevation, cooler air at night for sleeping without air conditioning.

8/6/2015 - Thursday
Got up early from a good nights sleep and caught the trolley to tour Gatlinburg.  The trolley only cost $1.00 each to drive us to the Gatlinburg attractions.  I thought that was very reasonable.  I'm not a big tourist attraction type of guy.  I enjoy seeing everything in a hurry, then I'm done.  I especially hate store employees trying to real me in when I'm walking by.

8/7/2015 - Friday
Broke camp this morning and decided we would like to stay 1 more night.  The site we had was not available but we were able to reserve another right be hide where we were.

Today we are driving about 1 hour through the curves and hills to a place called Cades Cove.  Homestead frozen in time.  Log homes and farms from the 1800's still in existence.

8/8/2015 - Saturday
Leaving for Florida today.  We drove to the South side of Georgia today and stopped at Walmart.  Bad nights sleep.  Parking lot sweeper sweeping the parking lot in the middle of the night.  Cars and trucks driving by riving there engines all night.  Worse Walmart experience we have had.  Not complaining though.  We appreciate Walmart letting is stay the night for Free.

8/9/2015 - Sunday
We arrive home in Florida around 4:00 p.m.  Stopped and relaxed and ate in Sarasota on our way around noon.  We are tired and glad to be home.  What a great trip though.  We appreciate everything and everybody we encountered on Our Kodiak Adventures.
