Koreshan State Historic Site

10/05/2017 The  Koreshan State Historic Site  is a state park in  Lee County, Florida  located on  U.S. Highway 41  at Corkscrew Road. It was also added to the  National Register of Historic Places  on May 4, 1976 under the designation of  Koreshan Unity Settlement Historic District . Myakka River State Park FL, Camping

Myakka River State Park, Fl 08/11/2017 Brian and Diego came to Florida to pick their car and dog Max up and return home.  Brian Diego and Greg had planned a overnight camping trip.  We headed out for Myakka River State Park, in Sarasota Florida.  Becky and I have camped there several times over the years. After checking in at the Ranger Station, we proceeded to the Nature Center.  After learning about the park and it's residence, we continued on to the alligator water hole.  This is the famous bridge well know for alligator watching.  Today, hot overcast and lots of flooding, the gators were keeping cool below the surface. Normally you will see a dozen or more gators lounging around. A little ways down the road we stopped at a popular trail to see the the freestanding observation tower.  Several feet in the air you can see for a long distance over the park.
