Salt Lake City, UT

5/10/2015 Sunny 74 deg. F today.  We left Pocatello, Idaho  and our visit with Aaron, Kimberly, Logan, and Peyton last evening.  We stayed at Sam's Club last night.  Quiet and we sleep well. We are heading toward Salt Lake City today via I-15 to see the Mormon Tabernacle .  Aaron was very helpful giving us different routes to take.  We chose the safe less scenic route because of the snow predicted.  We still enjoyed the drive.  Snow top mountains are beautiful. We continued South to Provo, Utah .  Becky and I went to Ruby Steak House to celebrate Mother's Day.  We enjoyed a good Prime Rib dinner, then back to Sam's Club parking lot for the night. I'm

Venice Myakka River Park

This park allows visitors the experience of scenic views of the Myakka River and lush vegetation along the shore. There is a paved trail for biking or walking under shady oaks and palm trees. ​ Hours Open year round. April-October  6 a.m. - 8 p.m. November-March  6 a.m. - 6 p.m.  The Park has a great launch area for Kayakers.  We paddled the Myakka River for a couple hours enjoying the beautiful day.p

12/3/2014 YouTube - Our Kodiak Adventures Becky and I heading back to the mainland from Bahia Honda State Park to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park . We were not disappointed when we heard this park has a lot to offer. Beautiful Coral, Fish, and clear water. On our way to John Pennekamp State Park, we stopped at The Turtle Hospital , a Hospital for Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Release of Sea Turtles. Interesting to see the wonderful work they are doing helping preserve Turtles.   In 1993, a bar called Fanny’s was fully renovated and is now the building known as The Turtle Hospital . Today, The Turtle Hospital is the only state-certified veterinary hospital in the world for sea turtles. More than half of the hospital’s equipment has been generously donated by hospitals, doctors, private individuals and organizations.
